Credit Card Debt Legal Advice:
How does it work?
When we think about
credit card debt legal advice we
think of ways and means of improving our state of affairs. British household
debt at the end of year end 2008 was an amazing £1,457bn. This
has dropped to 3.6 per cent in the last 12 month period which translates
to an increase of about £50bn. Total lending in december 2008
increased by £2.2 billion; home loans increased by £1.9
billion in that same month; personal consumer credit lending escalated
by £0.3bn during that month as well. The average household debt
in the UK is thought to be around £59,700 (including mortgages).
The average owed by every British adult is around £30,400 (that
includes secured loans). Average unsettles secured loan for some 12
million households who have oustanding mortgages at the time of writing
stands at about £105,000.
Some more somewhat
hard statistics: £252m is paid just in interest in Britain daily.
There are 124 properties repossessed by the banks daily. 1,490 workers
are made unemployed daily, while someone is made insolvent or bankrupt
every five minutes.
But it clearly hasn't
just been people like you and me who have clearly had to bear the brunt
of this. Corporate insolvencies have risen vastly over the last few
years and this accelerating trend has been especially marked in the
years culminating in the current downturn. In the fourth quarter of
2008 three thousand companies went into liquidation and this was a sixty
two percent increase on Q4 in 2007. British businesses have rarely faced
a more challenging economic climate. In the context of credit card debt
legal advice this
really creates a worrying test to everyone.
