Ways To Pay Off Credit Card Debt:
How does it work?
Thinking about ways
to pay off credit card debt we think of ways and means of enhancing
our lives as a whole. United Kingdom individual debt liability as of
December 2008 stood at £1,457bn. That figure has dropped to 3.6
per cent over the last 12 months which equates to an increase of around
fifty billion pounds. Borrowing in the month of december last year escalated
by £2.2 billion; mortgaged lending increased by £1.9 billion
that month; unsecured consumer lending grew by £0.3 billion during
that month as well. The average British household debt is thought to
be about £59,700 (includes secured loans). The average amount
of money owed by every UK adult is around £30,400 (including secured
borrowing). Average oustanding secured loan for the 11.7m families who
have oustanding mortgages now is around £105,000.
Some more somewhat
sobering figures: £252m is paid in interest in Britain daily.
124 homes are repossessed every day. 1,490 workers lose their jobs every
day, meanwhile one person is made insolvent or bankrupt every 5 minutes.
But it certainly
hasn't only just been people who have suffered. Business failure have
dramatically shot up in recent years and the accelerating trend has
been particularly prevalent in the years culminating in the recession.
In the fourth quarter of 2008 three thousand ilimited companies went
into company voluntary liquidation (CVL) and this was a 62% increase
on Q4 in 2007. Companies in the United Kingdom have rarely faced a more
challenging business climate. When considered in terms of ways to pay
off credit card debt this situation poses a challenge for us all.
