Card Wipe Off Lawyers: Some Notes on the Context.
When
we begin to consider credit card write-off lawyers we think of ways
and means of improving our lot! Total United Kingdom individual debt
liability as of year end 2008 was £1,457bn. This has continued
to slow down to 3.6% over the last 12 months which translates to an
increase of around £50 billion. Total borrowing in December last
year expanded by £2.2bn; lending secured on personal property
increased by £1.9bn in the month; personal consumer lending expanded
by £0.3 billion in that month as well. Average British household
debt comes in at about £60,000 (including secured loans). The
average amount owed by every UK adult is around £30,435 (that
includes secured loans). The mean average payable secured loan for the
11.7m households who have mortgages currently stands at around £104,223.
Some
more somewhat sobering figures: £252m is payable in interest alone
in the UK every day. 124 properties become repossessed every day. 1,490
people are thrown out of work on a daily basis, and also someone is
made bankrupt every 5 minutes.
But
it certainly hasn't just been people who have suffered. Corporate insolvency
have increased by leaps and bounds over the last few quarters and this
marked increase has been sustained in the recent years coming up to
the recession. In the fourth quarter of 2008 three thousand companies
went into liquidation, a 62 percent increase on the same quarter in
2007. U.K. businesses are set to face a very challenging economic environment.
When considered in the context of credit card wipe off (make unenforceable)
lawyers this creates a challenge for everyone.

If a debt is found to be unenforceable this means that the
debt can not be collected. It does not mean that the debt
is wiped, cleared or written off, other than in exceptional
circumstances. All references here to writing off or wiping
off or clearing debt and to 'write off credit card debt' are
understood in the colloquial sense. In most cases the debt
will remain outstanding and on file.
